Children are natural learners. We believe they thrive with a diverse range of experiences and opportunities that exercise their innate curiosity.

Edventure Kids provides full-day activities to support children’s wellbeing, encourage their engagement and self-motivation in learning, and offer the chance to explore and broaden their interests and abilities. Children learn to take ownership of their learning and develop a connection to the world around them. Childhood is not a homogenous experience, so education can’t be one either. We see children as individuals, unique in their interests and talents.

Forest Days

The Edventure Kids’ Forest experience is set in the heart of a wood in the Kent countryside, where children are grounded in the natural world. While there are always guided activities and crafts available, we encourage children to follow their interests: building, moving, exploring and discovering nature for themselves. Children can immerse themselves fully in nature, no matter the weather or season. It’s a chance for them to explore their own capacities, their environment, their imagination… The muddy clothes and joyful expressions are priceless.

This is a predominantly child-led day, providing open-ended activities: children might choose to build their own swing; climb trees; build forts; role play; or explore the wildlife and flora. With the support of the experienced forest team, they might engage in tool work, coppicing, fire building and cooking.

The mixed age group naturally encourages collaboration and creativity, rather than competition, however when conflicts do inevitably arise, we support the children to communicate and resolve issues amongst themselves, only stepping in as needed. Children develop gross and fine motor skills, they assess risks, challenge themselves and develop confidence and independence.

Forest Education operates every Thursday in term-time.
